Church Notices

Pastor Steve writes…

Our current series on faith has come at the right time for our church. I will conclude my pastoral ministry at our church next week, on Sunday 30 November. This means our church will enter into an ‘interim period’. This will be a season for us to trust God, resting our confidence in him to provide for our church. The leadership will also need support and prayer: Chadd in his new role as Interim Staff Leader, and the new team of deacons we elect today. During this interim period many will need to step into roles to assist with ministry needs and gaps. An exciting period ahead, and also scary! This is a good opportunity for us all to place our prayerful trust in God’s faithfulness.

As Christ's disciples:

We will continually strive to become just like Jesus, through prayer, the study of God?s word, and through radical obedience to him in all of life?s circumstances."   (1 John 2:3 ? 6).

We will diligently work to grow and mature as Christ?s body as we serve him together with all our heart, soul, mind, and strength. (John 15:12 ? 17).

We will eagerly go and make disciples of every nation on earth, until the full number of believers in the universal body of Christ is physically and spiritually reunited with Jesus Christ, our Living Head. (Matthew 28:18 ? 20).

Pastors and Elders available

Our Pastoral Team and Elders are available to visit any who would like prayer. If you have any difficulties in your spiritual life, marriage, family, medical or physical life, etc, please mention on a contact card or speak to a pastor or Elder. One or two pastors or Elders would love to support you and pray with you.

Peter Melbourne is re-nominated for affirmation as an elder. Brief profiles of all nominees are on the back table.

Mission Support

Due to fluctuations in the Australian dollar over the past few months our overseas mission partners have been receiving about 25-30% less money in their local currencies which has caused some hardship. if you would like to make a one off donation to any particular mission partner to help offset this dramatic reduction in support please place your contribution in an envelope in the offering with the partners name on it or give the donation to the church office.

Farewell to the Coopers

The farewell to the Coopers is to be held on Sunday 30th November 2008 at 12.30pm in the main hall. It will be a lunch and everyone is invited. If you are coming, please bring either a main meal or a dessert. To assist with catering, please let the office know if you are coming.
If you would like to contribute towards the farewell gift to the Coopers, please put it in the offering in a marked envelope ‘Farewell gift–Coopers”.

Thank you once again for your generosity. Ephesians 3:20

During the parade they will be singing carols, and asking “Inn keepers” from the shops if there is any room in the Inn for Mary. The children will then perform in a celebration concert and a festival in the church grounds. The Salvation Army are providing a free bbq and volunteers from various churches are supporting by marshalling the parade, applauding the children enthusiastically during the concert, and doing face painting, making ballons, helping with craft and other engaging activities at the festival, which concludes at 12pm.
